Zephyr Adds Snap Preview

I'm going to interrupt the regularly scheduled program to announce a very cool technology upgrade. Called "Snap Preview," the feature brings up a snapshot of an embedded link when the reader hovers his or her mouse pointer over the linked text. For example the annual Key West Regatta is taking place this week and every link in this sentence (not to mention every link in this blog, now) should give you a mini-window pertaining to the week long competition. Forgive me if this is old hat to you...but I'm always impressed with cool new features that enrich blogs...another example is the Zephyr ZoomCloud (scroll down this page and look to the left.) Yet another is the Zephyr Clustermap page.

You kids and your internets. Cool stuff, Zeph, seriously. Your willingness to embrace The New is kudo-worthy. Glad I have no say about any of this on my site. With me in charge of software it would not end up being, rest assured, a Clustermap.

Thanks Ward...I really appreciate it.

Probably this is a complaint that should be aimed at the Snap Preview people ... but the preview that I see is my site the way it was yesterday, not the new post that I put up today. The whole concept is way cool, getting a snapshot of a site before actually going there. But if the snapshot doesn't change when there's new material at a particular site, that's bad. Somebody could see the preview and say, "I've already seen that," and then move on.

Love the new blog bling. I added a clock to mine. A lit less sexy and pretty useless really compared to your snap thing. Only word of caution, I did find it harder to open the comment box.
